With Citimark growing from 7 to 20 in only two years the management team have had to brush up their skills in several new areas. Keeping people in the loop, and inviting feedback has been a challenge which we have approached in part with a quarterly breakfast followed by an update meeting.
Our most recent was on 20th October, and speakers providing information, updates and forums for discussions included Mark Jeffs, Ludvig Frick, Caroline Leech, Jennie Large, Julie Palmer, Katie Garland and Gail Payne. Items discussed were wide ranging from the use of pictograms when describing complex matters to pensions in divorce, client care and Investors in People.
During the day I was reminded of the great skills and vast experience this assembled group has and how the synergy of us being a team has strengthened the business as a whole. We all get to do what we are good at.
Bill Gates once said "I can't throw a ball to save my life. I have two left feet on the dance floor. My sense of humour is practically laughable. I'm a hair stylist's worst nightmare, and I can barely strum a guitar."
His advice was to focus on what you can do, rather than what you can't do, which was my lesson from the day, and look where it got Bill Gates.
So, thank you team for your input and keep up the good work
