Dino sits just one point off of the top of the championship standings. Dino put a difficult weekend at Oulton Park in June behind him over the break and gave an impressive performance in the Porsche Supercup event at Silverstone supporting the British Grand Prix. He finished seventh in a highly competitive field and was the highest placed guest driver in the UK race. Now his attention turns to the Carrera Cup where he is looking forward to once again getting back on track and working with Nationwide and the Redline Racing team.
He said: “I feel strong and I’m looking forward to jumping back in the car, racing again, and putting right the wrong from Oulton Park,” said Dino. “There wasn’t much more we could have done at Oulton and sometimes these things don’t go your way. It hurts at the time, but we’ll bounce back.
“I really like Snetterton as a circuit and I enjoy driving there. I was close to pole last year, so if we can get pole and some good points we can climb back up to where we were before Oulton. I’m excited and I want to get stuck in.
“It’s a circuit where everyone goes to test so it’s a good place to gauge how you’re getting on. It’s a really cool circuit if you can get a nice set up that works and you’re fast. There’s some low speed hairpins and some high-speed stuff so it can be really rewarding.”
The weekend’s action gets underway with two practice sessions at 09:00 and 13:40 on Friday July 27 with the all-important qualifying taking place on Saturday July 28 at 14:30. Both 14-lap races will be held on Sunday July 29 at 09:15 and 15:05 with the latter shown live on ITV4 and online via ITV Hub.
